On the occasion of the Heritage Days, Soierie Vivante is offering a unique guided tour of their workshops: “The Women of Soierie Vivante.” Weavers, silk designers, and reelers, these women contributed to the silk industry with strength and passion. Discover their lives and daily routines on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 10 AM.
The 1.5-hour tour includes:
A visit to the municipal passementerie workshop where the former owner, Mrs. Létourneau, made braids and trimmings.
A visit to the municipal mechanical weaving workshop, where you will explore a model apartment depicting 19th-century life. In each workshop, you will see the looms on which the former owners worked throughout their lives, operating before your eyes!
